Ed will become a merman kraken with tentacles sprouting where his legs once were [ 1 | 2 ]. His beard varies in bushiness and length, and is occasionally on fire or smoking if he's angry or upset.
He continues to have multiple tattoos which glow under the moonlight when the tides are highest. Sometimes, he is joined by a seagull he calls Buttons. He will talk to Buttons frequently even though the bird never responds.
Wherever he goes, the water turns an inky black. He will sometimes drop treasure to the bottom of the ocean. This treasure is not always valuable. Some of it is quite clearly junk or just fucking ugly, but it's there if you want it.
He does not have a form that allows him to stay on land for any length of time. He can squirm his way up his lighthouse or onto shore, but inevitably, he must return to the ocean before drying out.

Demeanor
Ed is tied to the sea. A part of him feels like it's his real home, but there's another part of him that yearns to find his legs and come to shore. He is on the constant lookout for a golden mermaid. For Ed, this mermaid is a lost God, one that long ago promised him his land legs or stole them and fucked off. Which version of the story you get depends on Ed's mood for the day. The Golden Mermaid is the real treasure he cannot find.
In the meantime, Ed continues to hoard endless treasure in his lighthouse while he searches for the one valuable he lost (Stede, who's faded from his memories). Some of this treasure was obtained during his various kraken-esque eras, meaning there's a lot of guilt associated with them. As a result, Ed's really eager to foist them off on anyone he can: other Gods, a fisherman lost at sea, whoever you are, if you cross his path, you might get a doubloon or a chunky gold necklace chucked your way.
